Hi, I'm very new to wild bird feeding so which is the better just an open table or one with a roof. Common sense says roofed ones will keep the food dry (?) but is it just personal taste?
Many thanks for your assistance

A bird table is really down to the customer, a roofed one will give some weather protection but the rain still gets in the sides, what a lot of people don't know is a roof on a bird table is akso there to protect the birds from predators, they will more likely use one with a roof, that said if there is cover nearby they will use an open table also. You could also just throw food on the ground.
It also depends on how many birds you want to attract, bird tables are good and sensible but the birds are after food and water, I recomend you start with a medium table and bird bath
