This natural habitat, made from chunky FSC Certified Timber and natural log is an ideal habitat for ladybirds and lacewings. Both of these insects are natural predators of garden pests like aphids and greenfly. Encouraging these insects will help reduce or eliminate chemical insecticide use in the garden. To encourage these insects, the internal chamber can be filled through the viewing ports with straw (lacewings), or bark (ladybirds and other insects) to provide valuable, insulated overwintering space and summer retreat.
Siting: Position the box near an aphid problem area, in a sheltered position. Wildlife World ladybird or lacewing attractant can be used dependent upon desired insect.

Because many species of creature are constantly seeking refuge and safe nesting sites, you may find that an unexpected species is using your product - this is part of nature and all species should be welcomed as part of your wildlife garden
